Cuddle Bug

 

Cambre has always been sweet as sugar. But lately, she has become a cuddle bug. Oh my goodness, she will just lay there and press her tiny head into our should and just let us hold her forever. How I love this little pup. 

Signs

 

Rivers and I walked to Food Lion yesterday. We walk along this beautiful path called the Huckleberry Trail. Along the trail we look out through the rolling hills, while cows graze in the distance. On the way we found abundant signs of spring. We found teeny tiny pansies growing around the tunnel openings, little white "light post" flowers, and these darling little flowers (shown in Rivers hand) in purple, yellow & orange hues. What an absolute delight. How the sun has brought sun joy. Spring is just around the corner.

In Celebration

In celebration of the beautiful sunshine, that has shone its brilliant face upon Blacksburg. Rivers built the first fire in our very own fire pit. I know, I know, the fire is in the dark, after the sun had long set. But we had spent all day in that brilliant sunlight. Hiking at Pandapas, dragging the large tree branches that had snapped under the weight of the multiple ice storms, collecting wood for our fire. And Rivers had his first playdate at our house. Caleb and Brayden Quick (from our ward) came over. The boys played tag on the playground, they began building a fort in our backyard (under the large pine trees) and they climbed trees. What a glorious day this was. I feel like a solar battery, finally being recharged through the energy of the sun's brilliant light. 

Ice Storm

 

Rivers worked so hard, attempting to lighten our Magnolia's load, and spare her branches.

Not Throwing Away My Shot

 

Ben and I were among the first to receive our shots (due to Ben being a dentist, and I his helper . . . especially when the staff goes skeleton - during the covid shutdown and we would help emergencies). What a blessing these shots are. I feel so grateful to all the scientist who worked endlessly, all the volunteers administering the shots, and a country where we can afford shots. 

On another note, over Christmas time, we became huge fans of Hamilton. The timing couldn't be more appropriate. 😁
