Farmer's Market

Saturday mornings are our favorite mornings. At about 6:30 am we hitch up the trailer, snap on Canbre's leash and off we ride to the Old Colorado City Farmer's Market. We ride along a winding trail by the river, where Canbre takes a dip and drinks in the cold, muddy river water. After a four mile ride, we reach our destination full of delicious Colorado fresh produce. Packing our bags full of peaches, cantaloupes, corn, red & green bell peppers, herbs, eggplant, giant beets, tomatoes, candied onions, green beans, squash and broccoli (all for under $20). 

While Ben and I are eyeing the veggies, Canbre is sampling homemade dog treats, while Rivers devourers chips and salsa, rice cakes, and peaches. Then we go play in the park. There Rivers always finds a friend. This week it happened to be the homeless lady who plugged in her boom box so Rivers could rock out to the local country station. 

After lots of running around. Playing tag, waving to fake butterflies, dancing with homeless people, and and eyeing homemade stuffed animals, we pack up the trailer, and take a relaxing ride home. Arriving home just in time for nap time! (where yes, we all sleep :) Yep, Saturday is definitely the best day!
